3. Elbow Grease

Sometimes, all a house needs for a little pick-me-up is a bit of elbow grease. Polish up all the shiny surfaces in your home the results may well astound you. Give the silverware, doorknobs and doorknocker a good polish, and scrub your iron-wrought gate within an inch of its life. If need be, invest in a small can of gold, bronze of silver paint to give your home decor accessories a better shine.

TIP: It’s the same as wearing jewellery - never clash gold and silver unless you’re in Hollywood.

4. Word Play

lifemeasured-ft04 It doesn’t take a Scrabble maestro to be able to carry out this project. Think of words which inspire you, like ‘hope’ or ‘dream’ or ‘love’. Make stencils for the words by printing them out on the computer in your desired size; then paste them on a piece of thicker cardboard and cut out the letters. Stick them securely to the wall you wish to have them on, and paint away!

TIP: You can even paint a whole phrase or quotation which means a lot to you, but make a whole essay may be pushing the limit!
