Nightstands

Choosing the right nightstand can help to complete the overall style of your bedroom.

When it’s time to finish the look and feel of your bedroom, choosing the right nightstand can help it all come together. Nightstands today double as both functional, practical furniture - it keeps your alarm clock and other essentials close by, as well as provide a platform for a small table lamp or accent light.

Simply Sensational
You can never go wrong with a minimalistic approach when choosing nightstands. Simple designs with only single tabletops without drawers can help prevent the bedroom from looking too cluttered. Not only that, simple chrome and glass pieces complement and suit most other interior furniture well.

Do keep in mind though, such nightstands do not provide much room for holding items beyond the bare essentials like the alarm clock and a small lamp. Alternatively, a single wall-mounted shelf can serve as a nightstand if you wish to avoid clashing the different furniture styles in the bedroom.

Draw ‘Em Up
As with all other rooms in your home, the bedroom too often has insufficient storage space. Hence, fully utilise your nightstands by choosing designs with drawers and shelves. They can help store up yet-to-be-read books and magazines, or hide from view bed linens and sheets- provided you have sufficient floor space as these types of nightstands tend to be bigger. Open shelves and boxy drawers are the traditional classic styles of nightstands, while a multi-tiered glass-shelved nightstand provides a more modern looking option.

Innovation Wonders
Bedroom furniture manufacturers have constantly renewed their designs and come up with innovative new creations. A good example would be nightstands which come attached to the bed frame. With such a design, you would not have to worry about your nightstand clashing with the style of your bed post.

Another new look garnering much interest are the roll-aways. With wheels attached at the bottom, these portable nightstands can be pushed around the room as needed and can even double as a make-shift laptop worktable or breakfast-in-bed table.

Aesthetic Overdrive
Most nightstands are made to be user-friendly. Some, however, are designed purely for their artistic quality to add visual appeal to the bedroom. These designs have minimal functionality but stand unrivalled in design concept. Hence, if you wish to make a bold statement or infuse an artistic vibe to the home décor, look for stylish and unique nightstands that are truly one-of-a-kind.
